I charge different amounts based on where the sessions take place and who is funding the therapy. My prices start at £50 per session. Please contact me for more detail and I can provide a more accurate quote.

I am based in Wellington, Somerset and I run play therapy sessions from the Wellington Community Centre on White Hart Lane. I also visit schools to deliver play therapy to students during the school day.

Play therapy sessions are 40 minutes long and take place once a week, at the same time and place each week.

Currently I have no dedicated waiting area for parents. Parents are welcome to wait in their car at Longforth Road car park, or to visit one of the nearby coffee shops during their child’s session. The only requirement is that parents remain within a 2-3 minute walk of the Community Centre.

Broadly speaking, no there are no restrictions. However, I am bound by a code of ethics and therefore if I feel that your child would be better placed with a different therapist or a different service altogether. If this happens then I will always do my best to refer you on to professionals that can support your child and you better.

After you first contact me, I will ask for the reason you are looking for play therapy. If I feel that I can help you, I will suggest a free chat with you, either over the phone, or in person. Once you have committed to play therapy, I will send you intake forms to fill out and we will arrange another time to meet to have a more in-depth discussion about the struggles your child is facing. After these meetings have been completed, we will arrange for you and your child to come to the therapy room so your child can get used to the environment and so I can introduce myself to them. Sessions will then start shortly afterwards, normally the next week.

I keep parents updated on their child’s progress in therapy at review meetings every eight weeks. I can share things such as “Bobby has made fantastic progress understanding his feelings, he is more able to verbalise his feelings and can open up about topics important to him”.

Everything that occurs in the therapy room is confidential, and this is an important part of the therapeutic process. Therefore, I cannot share details of what your child talks about or does in the therapy room. For example, I would not be able to share: “Bobby played with the dinosaurs in the sand today and told me he hates chocolate”.

The only exception to this is when I feel your child or someone else isn’t safe, in which case I am required to report it to the relevant organisation.
